We are looking for a Commercial Manager (m/f/d) full-time in Calgary to support our operations.

 

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for commercial project management support of large and complex projects.  Responsibilities vary depending on the stage and size of the project, but typically involve a combination of coordinating the work, leading multi-discipline activities and supporting the Project Manager to deliver on time and on budget.  The successful applicant will have a track record of success in high value complex projects from contract award through to completion, including to identify and mitigate risks.  The ability to nurture relationships with clients throughout projects is crucial as well.  The role includes develop and manage a cross-functional team, as well as collaborating with other departments. 

 

Your Tasks

  • Act in accordance with sound business practices.
  • Support Project Manager and business leaders.
  • Assist Project Manager to plan, schedule, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Develop a set of comprehensive control procedures relating to the planning, scheduling, progress measurement, progress reporting, manpower, commodity planning and reporting, estimating, cost reporting and change management.
  • Develop and implement a cost control program used to manage costs throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Control project costs to ensure the project and its contractors will complete the project within budget.
  • Create forecast/actual comparisons and variance analyses.
  • Risk analysis in close cooperation with the technical project management and project controlling.
  • Interface with project team, customer, contract management and project controlling.
  • Contact person for all parties regarding commercial questions within the framework of the contract-design.
  • Commercial control of technical changes, additional or minor performances within the FAM Group as required by the contract with the client.
  • Identify and consolidate potential contract changes and create supporting documentation for approval by the client.
  • Develop and implement FAM claim management process.
  • Analyze, validate and develop/challenge all claims for/against FAM.  Monitor and recover back-chargeable expenses during the entire project cycle.
  • Assist Project Manager and FAM Board Management in claim negotiations.
  • Prepare Lessons Learned related to costs and cost estimation.
  • Support scheduling (external and internal according to the contract). Ensure that the project milestones are aligned with sub-contractors and that all contractors understand float, critical path, and risks.
  • Evaluate and update of project cash flow.
    Share relevant documentation and reports with project team. Prove information and regular support to stakeholders.
    Create and review reports for Clients and FAM management.  Consolidate Monthly Progress Reports, Cost and Change Log Reports.  Understand formal escalation and review processes.
  • Support the coordination of payment conditions for sub-contracts.
  • Manage and monitor suppliers’ invoices using milestones or earned value methods throughout the entire course of the project until goods are delivered, installed, validated, and warrantied.
  • Create and monitor Control Schedule, submit, and interpret different types of reports (e.g., status, forecast, etc.)  for clients and FAM management.
  • Monitor progress of all activities through bar charts, progress curves, histograms, and follow-up tables based on the deliverables and or commodities.
  • Create manpower histograms and progress curves.
    Forecast costs to completion based on trends, including productivity measurements, labor rate analysis, commitments, change management, schedule impacts and material cost fluctuations.
     

Your Profile

  • Extensive professional experience in commercial support of international large-scale  materials handling projects. 
  • Degree in economics or in a comparable field, preferably specialized in Project Management.
  • Project Management and/or Project Cost Control experience, including client-consultant interaction.  MBA and/or PMP would be an asset. 
  • Proven understanding of project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes to support project management team.
  • Familiar with project management tools (Primavera, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP).
  • Proven experience in claim preparation, defence, and strategy.
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex issues and prioritize tasks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire project contracting cycle
  • Expertise in project planning & scheduling.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both FAM employees and clients.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for various technical leadership and project support on material handling projects. The Mechanical Engineer should understand both engineering and construction workflows and have experience in site construction, to fully support FAM’s project delivery with Canada und USA.

Verfahrensmechaniker (m/w/d) für Beschichtungstechnik legen in unserem Unternehmen die Art der Vorbehandlung und das zum Einsatz kommende Beschichtungsmaterial fest, entfernen bereits vorhandene Überzüge, führen Lackierungen mit Hand oder maschinell aus, überwachen und prüfen die Schichtbildung und Härtung, sichern den Qualitätsstandard  durch systematische Fehleranalyse, fertigen Vorrichtungen und Gestelle für größere Beschichtungsobjekte an.

Ausbildungsdauer 2 Jahre

 

Als Fachkraft für Metalltechnik (m/w/d) mit Fachrichtung Konstruktionsmechanik lernst Du alles über den Umgang mit Zuschnittmaschinen. Du fertigst Halbzeuge aus unterschiedlichsten Werkstoffen mit verschiedenen Verfahren. Außerdem wirst Du mit der Überwachung von Produktionsabläufen vertraut gemacht und erfährst, wie wir die Qualität unserer Produkte sichern. Das Zuschneiden der Stahlbauteile ist der erste Schritt in der Fertigungskette, dabei ist die Genauigkeit sehr wichtig. Kannst Du so exakt arbeiten?

 

Perspektiven

Bei guten Leistungen kann eine Übernahme erfolgen. Darüber hinaus kann bei sehr guten Leistungen eine Weiterqualifizierung zum Konstruktionsmechaniker (m/w/d) auf Grundlage dieser Ausbildung erfolgen. Die zusätzliche Ausbildungszeit beträgt 1,5 Jahre.

Aufgaben

  • Erstellung und Weiterentwicklung von Soll-/Ist-Analysen
  • Weiterentwicklung des internen und externen Reportings
  • Kontinuierliche Optimierung der Controlling-Instrumente und dazugehöriger Prozesse
  • Unterstützung bei Forecasts
  • Durchführung und Aufbereitung von Ad-hoc Analysen
  • Unterstützung und Mitgestaltung bei Digitalisierungsvorhaben im Bereich Controlling
 

Voraussetzungen  

  • Abgeschlossenes, betriebswirtschaftliches Studium, gerne mit Schwerpunkt Controlling
  • Mindestens dreijährige Berufserfahrung im Controlling
  • Verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse, weitere Sprachen sind willkommen
  • Sehr gute Excelkenntnisse
  • Hohes Maß an Eigeninitiative

Der Projektleiter ist der Hauptansprechpartner für unsere Kunden weltweit und verantwortlich für die erfolgreiche Umsetzung unserer Projekte. Unter Berücksichtigung des Vertrages, der Budgets und der Terminplanung koordinieren und  kontrollieren Sie die Ihnen übertragenen Projekte. Sie führen zur Projektrealisierung ein Team aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen unseres Unternehmens und berichten periodisch den Projektfortschritt sowohl an unsere Kunden als auch intern an die Geschäftsführung.

 

Voraussetzungen  

  • Ingenieurtechnische oder wirtschaftliche Fach- oder Hochschulausbildung
  • Engagement, Flexibilität, Belastbarkeit
  • Reisebereitschaft
  • Projektmanagementerfahrungen im internationalen Anlagenbau
  • Verhandlungssichere Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, d.h. Englisch ebenso argumentationsstark wie im Deutschen
